Evaluation
Product evaluation performed to determine the condition, functionality, and suitability of a Burkert device for continued operation or service. The investigation includes a review of the as-received condition, identification verification, visual inspection, and functional assessment where feasible. Findings are documented to identify potential failure modes, abnormal wear, contamination, or application-related issues. Based on the results, service recommendations are provided, which may include calibration, repair, refurbishment, replacement, or return of the product as-is.
Calibration
Calibration is a controlled evaluation performed to confirm that a Bürkert device meets specified performance and accuracy requirements without adjustment. The device is tested under defined conditions and compared against traceable reference standards to determine compliance with applicable tolerances. Results are documented and reported as as-found data, providing a pass/fail assessment of the device’s conformity to specifications at the time of testing.
Adjustment
Adjustment is a controlled process in which a Burkert device is evaluated against traceable reference standards and adjusted as necessary to meet specified performance and accuracy requirements. The device’s output is compared to reference values under defined conditions, and authorized adjustments are applied to correct deviations. Results are documented and reported as as-found and as-left data, providing objective evidence that the device conforms to applicable specifications following calibration. If as-found data cannot be obtained due to product condition or limitations, no as-found data will be reported.
Refurbishment
Refurbishment is a comprehensive service process performed to restore a Burkert product to optimal operating condition. The service includes product cleaning, replacement of applicable seals and filters, and calibration against traceable reference standards, with adjustment performed as necessary to meet specified performance requirements. As-found and as-left data are documented where applicable, providing assurance of product functionality, accuracy, and readiness for continued service.
Reconfiguration
Reconfiguration is a controlled service process in which a Burkert device is modified to meet new operational requirements or application specifications. This may include software updates, parameter changes, or hardware adjustments to optimize device performance for a specific process. All reported results reflect the final device condition following reconfiguration, ensuring it operates according to the intended configuration and defined standards.
Repair
Repair is a service process performed to restore a Burkert device to proper operating condition following malfunction, damage, or failure. The service may include replacement of defective components, adjustment, and calibration as necessary to meet specified performance requirements. All reported results reflect the final condition of the device after repair, ensuring it meets functional and accuracy standards for continued use.
