Purchasing Scam Alert Awareness
Suppliers be cautious - a scam is falsely using Burkert's name to acquire goods

Scam Methodology
Several companies have completed & shipped orders believing a purchasing agent from Burkert has placed them. We did not.
Want to verify validity of an order with us? Anytime!!
Any purchase orders from Burkert will be received from an address ending in _@burkert.com (never @gmail.com or other third party email services), and each new vendor working with Burkert completes a vendor set-up process involving multiple touch-points within Burkert for both our data safety and theirs.
Please be cautious about accepting orders from any non-official email addresses and if you ever want to just "double-check" with us, simply email sales.us@burkert.com and we would be happy to verify the validity of an order placed by Burkert.
What is Burkert doing?
Burkert is assisting by immediately reporting information we receive to our local law enforcement at the Huntersville police department and there is an active investigation with the FBI.
How can you protect your company from these scammers?
Be cautious, be smart, double-check by calling the company or using their "official" email addresses from their website to verify.
- Initiate a fraud report for any suspicious activity: abuse@gmail.com; reportphishing@antiphishing.org; Spam@uce.gov
- Did a message/confirmation come from here? Google can find out the IP address of the sender with a court order (Burkert cannot and are not allowed).
- Report the scam to:
- www.ftc.gov, “File a Consumer Complaint” & “Report Identity Theft”
- provide the requested bill to/ship to addresses to law enforcement to assist in their investigation
What results have occurred so far?
Burkert is now on a "watch list", with an active investigation open with FBI/PD Cybercrime.
