US Quality Manager

Position Title: Quality Manager

 

Summary:

The Quality Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of a quality system that ensures products and services meet customer expectations in a cost effective manner. The Quality Manager is responsible for establishing and reviewing process controls, emphasizing customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and waste reduction. This role will across all operational functions to understand customer requirements, in order to develop efficient and effective quality control processes. These duties are directly related to management practices and the company’s general business operations.

 

 

Main tasks:(Other duties will be assigned as required)

  • Coordinate all elements of the Operational quality program including its development and administration
  • Establish strategic quality plans, policies, and procedures at all levels and across all functions to ensure the quality system meets internal and external customer needs and expectations
  • Develop and implement department budget planning process
  • Develop, maintain, and champion factory quality goals and objectives that support local and corporate goals.
  • Assist all levels of organization with continuous improvement processes
  • Ensure company complies and meets industry and customer audit requirements (i.e. ISO certifications as required)
  • Lead communication effort between production and engineering team to determine quality and reliability standards
  • Complete quality documentation to include recording test data by applying statistical quality control procedures
  • Complete Statistical Process Control
  • Contribute to product quality by providing the necessary tools, documentation, information and corrective actions per Burkert quality policy and procedures
  • Plans and conducts quality analysis, design of experiments, and products tests to assure the quality of Burkert products
  • Develop, initiate and maintain control plans, methods and procedures for evaluating quality and reliability to assure products meet customer needs and design requirements
  • Design and develop methods, processes and procedures for recording and reporting of data results, and reports on those results to appropriate managers and engineers
  • Establish programs to evaluate the accuracy of measurement and analytical equipment
  • Conduct quality reviews and audits for compliance with stated requirements from design documentation, both internal to Burkert and with purchased product
  • Apply statistical quality control methods in analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes
  • Conduct preventive and corrective problem solving analysis, plans and implements methods to prevent recurrence
  • Review purchased products or components and provides input to the decision to accept the product and future purchases from the supplier
  • Communicate with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues
  • Maintain working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance Specialists to ensure equipment/fixtures/procedures are sufficient to conduct thorough, 5-why-based failure investigations
  • Coach, mentor and develop staff including the oversight and direction of the employees in the operating unit in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Quality or equivalent certified completed technical training courses
  • 2+ years supervising
  • 2-5 years of quality experience in ASME manufacturing including exposure to FDA and ISO regulations; UL, CSA and FM Certifications
  • Experience with root cause analysis, statistical techniques and lean manufacturing concepts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Solidworks (Basic knowledge)
